2 months

Happy 2 months to my sweetness! Ohh how I love her!

Where has the time gone? Wasn't it just yesterday that I was pregnant and wishing for our baby to be with us? It sure seems like it! Well, it's been a really great month. I didn't realize how hard having a baby would be, but I'm used to it by now and loving every minute of it.

Vivien loves:
Her toy giraffe
Looking at any toy
Kicking her legs
Laying on her toy gym/mat
Looking over/being held over shoulders
Laying on her own
Sleeping in her swing
Singing
Car rides
Looking at EVERYTHING
Being outside
Trees
Looking at pictures
Talking/cooing with Mom

Vivien doesn't love:
Burping (but getting used to it)
Evening time (at least at the beginning of this month)
Long naps (she is a cat-napper)

At the beginning of this month, we were kind of struggling with nursing. She had a hard time deciding whether she was hungry or full towards the end of her feeding. She would latch on and pull off/scream every 4 seconds. So sad. BUT we are basically pros by now, she eats very fast and efficiently and I'm really enjoying nursing.

Vivien is so busy and curious, she constantly whips her head from side to side to try and take everything in.

She always falls asleep in the car. She loves her carseat. We can't go anywhere too late in the evening because it throws her night sleeping schedule off.

Earlier this month we bought a swing, best investment ever. She sleeps much longer in the nights now. She only wakes up once (sometimes/rarely twice) during the nights. We are kind of spoiling her because she doesn't sleep very well flat on her back now, oh well, sleep is sleep!

Vivien is very good at hanging out alone (most days). She doesn't love to be held unless she is over your shoulder or facing out so she can see the world. We always have to be up and moving, heaven forbid we ever sit down.

I took Viv in for a weight check on July 5th, she weighed anywhere from 8 lbs 14 oz -9 lbs 1 oz, she was wiggly so the scale was all over the place. It was good to know that she has been gaining weight because she is such a skinny mini.

Chris sings Come Fly With Me by Frank Sinatra and reads a poem called Winkin' Blinkin' and Nod to Vivien every night. I love this, I hope he keeps it up because I think it will be really special to her when she grows up.

Vivien is smiling ALL the time now, it's the GREATEST! She smiles when she sees me and it just melts my heart, she has the sweetest smile.

Grandma Park is an expert at calming Viv down when she is upset, she sure loves her grandma.

Earlier this month we started putting Vivien to bed a little earlier. This resulted in a few really rough nights for Mom, but it's great now, she does really well at night. When she does wake up, she goes right back to sleep after eating.

When she sleeps, she has to be swaddled or she startles herself awake.

Chris blessed Vivien on July 1st, it was a beautiful and spiritual day. Chris did an amazing job and Vivien was beautiful.

Viv is happy most of the time but happiest in the morning after a good night's sleep. She is always very smiley when she wakes up.

Vivien LOVES being outside. It is her number 1 favorite thing. When she is crying, if you take one step outside she will instantly calm down. We always take a walk around the yard right before bed.

She is still in newborn diapers! WHAT?! People told us that she'd probably wear them for a week...not our skinny lady! She has outgrown a few newborn onesies though!

Viv's first tear...so sad but I couldn't help myself, it was so precious (I'm SUCH a MOM haha!)

When Viv is about 4 seconds away from eating, she does this cute little panting noise, then if she doesn't get food right then, she does the cutest little growl ever.

She is cooing more and more every day, it's the CUTEST thing in the world. Viv and I sit and have cooing conversations together all the time.

Vivien still loves her tongue (which is RIDICULOUSLY long, by the way). She loves looking at Mom's tongue now too, if I stick mine out, she will just stare and smile.

She's totally going to hate me for this one day but this is what we call her "poop face"...she gets this exact look on her face EVERY time right before she poops. Double chin, wide sideways eyes, and flared nostrils :) sorry Viv!

On July 19th, I heard her first real giggle (real=not asleep, she has done those since the beginning), we were just reading stories and it was the sweetest sound I have ever heard.

She found her lower lip and her hands, she loves to suck on them. If she finds her thumb, she'll have to go back to wearing gloves again because I don't want her to have that habit.

We took Vivien in for her 2 month appointment today. She is looking great!
Her head is in the 60th percentile
She is 22.45 inches, which is the 50th percentile
She weighs 9 lbs 15 oz, which is the 15th percentile....SKINNY GIRL!
Our doctor said she is healthy and everything is perfect. Viv was NOT happy when she got her shots :( she had lots of tears, Chris stayed with her, I had to leave (I'm a wuss). Poor girl, shots are NO fun.

Dear Viv,
My sweet baby, you are growing up so fast, I wish I could slow time down. These days are so fun and I know they will be gone before I know it. I am trying to enjoy every single minute with you. It's funny, but some of my very favorite times with you are at 3 in the morning, even though we are both sleepy, it's such a special bonding time. Last night we were snuggling in the dark and listening to the thunder outside, it felt so comfortable and perfect. I look forward to these moments every night with you. Vivien, I want you to know that I love you so much, you are my sunshine, I only want the best for you. I'm trying my hardest, I promise that I always will. I never want to let you down. I hope you always stay curious and eager to learn, it's a wonderful attribute. You are so beautiful and have the most darling personality. I love you forever my sweetness.
Love, Mom
