Happy FIVE months to my princess!
Goodness, I love her!
How is it even possible that is has already been five months since we welcomed Vivien into our lives? We are so blessed to have her. She is an angel child during the day, always ALWAYS happy, busy as can be, very active, full of squeals, and giggles. Nights, on the other hand, are NOT good in the world of Vivien (and Mom). She is probably the worst sleeper in the history of the world-I'm not even being funny. BUT we love her more than anything, she is our sunshine.

On September 28th, Vivien sat up on her own for the first time. This is really early! Most babies don't sit until 6-8 months! She was barely 4 months, what a champ! She caught on really quick and sits by herself all the time for longer and longer periods each day!
Vivien has been babbling and SCREECHING like crazy lately! We even call her "Our Screech Owl". She is NOISY NOISY, she sounds especially loud during the quiet night!
Vivien tried solids for the 1st time on September 29th. She was definitely not a fan. She still isn't but we are working on it! We try every few days, I'm not too worried about it quite yet.
She loves having toys dropped onto the floor in front of her, she thinks it's hilarious and will laugh and laugh. It never gets old.
Vivien LOVES tubby time. Before I put her in, I let her sit on the edge of the sink and splash. She goes CRAZY with it, she just laughs and squeals, the mirror is always covered in water. It's SO dang cute!
We went up to the Alpine Loop one Sunday this month to see the beautiful fall colors.
Still LOVING her Bjorn. Notice the SLOBBER, she soaked it all the way through!
Vivien loves when I give her serious looks. She gets the biggest smile when I do it....is this bad news for the future haha?!
She started sleeping in her crib on September 28th. I was so nervous that she was going to hate it and wouldn't be able to sleep (even less than she already does), but she made the transition (from the swing) quite well!
We were able to spend some time with Grandma Higley this month. Vivien cuddled right up with her and fell asleep, how sweet! Viv is the 3rd granddaughter on the Higley side.
Viv has found her fuzzy head. She loves to put her hand on top of her head and just rub. She also loves pulling her headbands down...over her EYES! Saddest thing ever, I really have to watch her because she does it quite a bit! Silly lady!
We are loving October and the fall weather! Much better than our ridiculously hot summer!
Vivien hasn't been a big fan of her carseat lately. We went on her 1st road trip to St. George, she basically cried the whole way there. This was one of the few smiles on the way down.
But once she gets out of the car, she's happy as can be!
We took her swimming for the first time! She was kind of indifferent about the whole experience. She sure looked cute though! Side note: that's a 12-month swimsuit and it fit her perfectly at 4.5 months, she is SO TALL!
We visited some of her cute cousins while we were in St. George.
Although 99% of the time she is a terrible sleeper, she DID sleep for 6 hours straight for the first time this month. Greatest night of my life!
She reaches and grabs for EVERYTHING. It's a little harder to eat dinner with her on my lap now. It's really good though because she can kind of entertain herself with toys now.
She loves grabbing toys and putting them on top of her head.
Vivien has finally learned to keep a binki in her mouth for more than a couple seconds! Sometimes she will even suck one for an entire (40 minute) nap!
Viv isn't much of a snuggler, but I LOVE the rare occasions when she does snuggle up, it's so sweet!
Vivien LOVES her dad! She is constantly smiling and screeching whenever he is home!
She loves to slam toys on the ground over and over. I think she loves the sound.
Vivien does really well in her jumper and in her swing. Those are the places she plays best on her own.
She attacks toys, binkis, hands, and anything she can get her hands on...she puts things up to her mouth and shakes her head back and forth really fast. So funny!
We had our monthly baby date at Gardener Village, it was so fun! Happy Halloween to my cute little Minnie!

Hello my sweet girl, what a great month we've had! Every day with you is the best day. I can't believe how fast you are growing and learning. You are so unbelievably smart, you're such a fast learner! I wouldn't be surprised if you start crawling tomorrow, I hope not, I just want you to stay my little baby forever! You have already taught me so much about being a mother. I didn't know how much I could love someone, you have me wrapped around your finger. I would do anything for you, I hope you always know that you can count on me for anything. I'm doing my very best and I hope you can forgive me for when I fall short. Thank you for being the sweetest girl in the whole world, there is nothing like starting every day out by seeing your beautiful smiling face. I love you more and more each day. XO
